Job purpose
Support in BFAM Partners is responsible of all Run the Bank activities. This includes the day-to-day administration and documentation of all issues that passes through the desk. The individual will be responsible for systems and operational process monitoring which are essential to the Front to back operation of the Fund. As the knowledge of the business and the systems builds up, the expectation of a support is to be able to understand/support and resolve issues whenever possible. The role requires the appropriate candidate to work well, individually, in a dynamic technology team and other teams of the business.
Duties and responsibilities
First line support for day-to-day operations for BFAM. Ability to support and maintain a wide variety of platforms, field questions and provide solutions for areas including order execution, position management, PnL, risk, operations, finance, straight through processing (STP). Collaborate with trading, operations, finance, risk management, fund administration and governance groups. BFAM is relying on to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and continuously improve levels of functionality for users and STP. Comply with technology standards and operating model for the team. Ensure the monitoring of the environment is at a high standard in order to improve the response rate and accuracy of the Support team. Document support processes and software packages used (internal/third party), tracks issues/resolutions. Continuous monitoring and planning of infrastructure, benchmarking of capacity and performance. Co-ordinate RTB projects, from performing DR Tests to Datacentre moves. General knowledge of Infrastructure/Datacentre is expected. Help gather user requirements as part of support function for BFAM and either deliver/develop solutions (where appropriate) or collaborate with dev team, explain these requirements to the relevant team/parties that will develop them (internal or external). Ability to develop software solutions covering automation of support tasks and monitoring, across all business areas covered by the group (volatility, equity amp; convertibles, credit, rates amp; FX).Requirements
Essential qualifications include:
University level education in computer science is preferred1-3 years of experience working with trading floor users Ability to develop working relationship with difficult users Needs to be energetic, enthusiastic, and able to take ownership Strong communications skills: proficiency in English is required, relates ideas concisely and directly orally and in writingHigh problem solving acumen. Ability to understand the problem quickly and find a high probability solution pathRaises and discuss issues and concerns, and provides feedback to team leader Strong interpersonal skills: patient, positive, and persistent when dealing with othersOffers advice or takes ownership where needed Takes the initiative yet disciplined and follows instructions Willing to explore other options to innovate on the job Works independently with little supervision ITIL certificate is an advantage

Working conditions
The individual is expected to work shifts. The morning shift may start at 07:00 and the evening shift starts at 13:00. The location of the office is 148 Electric Road. One must be able to start in this location at the stated times.
In addition, occasional weekend/holiday work is expected.
Industry standard working hours should also be expected.
The candidate will be working very closely to the trading floor with highly demanding users.
