Central Banking is looking for a staff reporter to be based out of its Hong Kong bureau, covering central bank issues across the APAC region.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, able to working independently to cover the most important issues across the region and to develop a network of excellent contacts within the central banking community.
Whether you're writing about the internationalisation of the renminbi, the growing dangers of cyber crime or new monetary policy initiatives, this is a role full of exciting opportunities.
This role would suit a recent graduate, or some that has had a few years experience as a journalist and would like to move on to new challenges. Mandarin skills are a strong advantage.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct research to uncover significant, interesting and exclusive newsCultivate contacts to generate a constant stream of news tips and leadsRegularly interview key senior people from the central banking communityContribute news, feature articles and comment pieces for publication both online and within the magazinesWork with editors in London and the bureau chief in Hong Kong to maintain a high quality of research and reportingCommunicate and share information from conversations with other teams, to help develop coverage across the platformMaintain a high standard of journalistic ethics, with a keen focus on use of sources and accuracy of storiesCover conferences where necessary both in Hong Kong and elsewhere in AsiaRequirements
