HYPEBEAST is looking for a highly knowledgeable and capable Associate Editor. The online editorial nature of HYPEBEAST requires applicants who can operate swiftly within our space and both understand and dictate movements within culture and social media. The Associate Editor will serve as an integral part of our growing Editorial team and help further the growth, reach and cultural impact of HYPEBEAST.Responsibilities:
- Produce daily content and news, ensuring the direction is in alignment with the HYPEBEAST brand.
- Source news stories that are trending within HYPEBEAST’s scope of coverage.
- Manage an editorial calendar, shaping and elevating the editorial curation.
- Produce 7-8 news posts per day.
- Analyze story performance/development in order to maximize traffic numbers.
- Communicating with PRs and Talent Managers to confirm interview opportunities and exclusives.
- Ideate and create captivating and well-researched interview questions.
- Ideate and produce long-form Native Content features in alignment with the HYPEBEAST brand.
- Identify emerging subcultures and new communities that HYPEBEAST can grow into, in order to expand our audience reach and strategize growth.
- Provide insight and input on art direction for features.
- Introduce and execute innovative editorial concepts.
- Work closely with and support the Editors and Senior Editor to ensure editorial excellence.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years experience in journalism, digital media or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Photoshop and/or photography skills a plus.
- Knowledge of HYPEBEAST content at a local and international level.
- Self-determined, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess a high level of creativity and out of the box thinking.
- Passion for innovation, constantly staying ahead of the changing trends.
- Proven experience with Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter).
- Team Player with the ability to work with different personalities to optimize editorial quality.
- Passion for HYPEBEAST culture and personal interest in fashion.
