Senior Compliance Manager
BFAM Partners, Hong Kong

• Serve as Senior Compliance Manager and as a thought leader in the area of Compliance for the firm. A clear roadmap to Head of Compliance for the right candidate;
• Supervise all regulatory compliance functions of the firm and maintains relationships with SFC and the relevant regulators/industry associations;
• Collaborate with C-Level members to develop and execute strategic long-term plans, growth strategies, product development, employee development, etc.;
• Drive the use of technology in all relevant Compliance functions
• Responsible for oversight and implementation of relevant developments and industry best practices and provide advice and guidance to senior management and investment team to ensure compliance with the relevant rules/regulations across the Asian markets
• Keep abreast of regulatory changes and conduct regular reviews on compliance and risk framework, policies, and procedures, and provide recommendations for and implement required actions;
• Provide guidance, advice, and training to improve the organization’s understanding of related laws and regulatory requirements;
• Liaise with regulators on handling licensing, inquiries, and ongoing reporting requirements;
• Manage and coordinate regulatory examinations and interaction with the regulators on compliance related matters;

• Monitor employees’ activities and surveillance;
• Manage one junior staff
• The role will report jointly to General Counsel and COO

Requirements

• University graduate or equivalent degree preferred, ideally in business, accounting or law
• 7+ years of experience in similar role at hedge/ prop trading/asset management firm
• Prior management, leadership, and/or supervisory experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to take initiative, implement new ideas, and influence others to produce good decisions
• Excellent team skills with ability to develop and manage successful internal and external relationships
• Confidence in navigating IT, Ops, Risk systems and databases for use by Compliance
