About the Role
We’re now looking for an enthusiastic Reception Supervisor to join The Optimist, our iconic, Barcelona-inspired Northern Spanish grill on Hennessy Road.
As a Reception Supervisor, you will be working alongside a team of receptionists and be responsible for maintaining the show-readiness of the reception while preserving orderliness and smooth guest flow. You will work alongside the Events amp; Reservations Manager, welcome guests, handle bookings, complaints, and guests enquiries in a prompt, efficient, and polite manner.
You will be fully responsible for all aspects of running a high-volume, high quality operation. You will ensure that your team is well trained and motivated, and is consistent in delivering an informed and friendly guest experience.

Duties amp; Responsibilities
- Work with a team of receptionists
- Maintain the show-readiness of the reception
- Ensure order at all times and the dependable delivery of reception services such as coat check, bag check and phone charging
- Greet and manage guests’ needs to enhance guest satisfaction
- Facilitate smooth guest flow
- Partner closely with the floor team in managing tables efficiently to optimise covers and turns
- Ensure all company standards are met during service
- Set up the reception desk before shifts
- Answer calls for booking and event enquiries
Requirements
- 1+ years experience as a Receptionist or Host in a highly regarded restaurant
- Fluency in English is a must, fluency in Cantonese is highly beneficial
- Positive attitude with a teamwork mindset
- Sense of responsibility within your role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
