Assistant Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to manage and review Accounts Payable transactions by processing, verifying, reconciling invoices and payment requests for proper authorisation.

The ideal candidate should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes. Ultimately, you will liaise with banks for payment issues, such as, bills, bank charges and foreign exchange and support us with ad-hoc business assignments.

Duties amp; Responsibilities

• Prepare and review transactions by processing, verifying, reconciling invoices and payment requests for proper authorisation
• Process large number of transactions by system
• Review and monitor the ageing of creditors and ensure payments are affected on time
• Manage the company’s Accounts Payable cycle to ensure a smooth daily operations
• Timely management on payment releases and execution of proper internal control
• Cash management includes cash flow forecast, fund transfer, credit control and maintain close relationship with external banking partners
• Harmonised coordination with different internal or external stakeholders regarding payment cycle affairs
• Review the operational procedure for potential enhancement or streamlining to achieve efficiency gain
• Support other ad-hoc business assignments as required, including new software implementation
• Liaise with banks for any payment issues such as bills, bank charges and foreign exchange

Requirements

• Academic background in business and/or finance-related field
• At least 3 - 5 years of experience working in finance
• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen
• Great attention to detail
• Proficient knowledge on how to use Excel
• Excellent organisation skills
• Fluency in English is a must, Cantonese is an advantage
