You will be the Business Development Manager of our Marketplace Team to build the largest sports marketplace in Hong Kong. You will have to understand our customers and prospective sellers’ needs to acquire potential sellers (i.e. brands, distributors and resellers) to enhance our product range.
Working hand-in-hand with various parties on developing our own online marketplace, your work will be a significant contribution to bringing the desirable offers to the Decathlon HK sports marketplace. We are looking for a passionate person with a strong business mindset, well understands the market, is customer-oriented, and is experienced in designing and pursuing partnerships that create value. Your Responsibilities
- Identifying, developing, and executing new business opportunities
- Successfully acquire the potential brands and onboard the desirable offers to our platform
- Stay current with the latest market development in the sports brands, distribution, and retail industry in Hong Kong and Internationally
- Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of how sports brands and marketplaces think and operate in Hong Kong (e.g. seller’s economics)
- Be entrepreneurial and ambitious - Combine traditional and out-of-the-box approaches to acquire sellers
- Serve as Decathlon Ambassador - Able to articulate the clear value propositions of selling on the Decathlon marketplace to prospective sellers
- Able to identify both the implicit and explicit pain points of sellers, thereby uncovering hidden opportunities
- Work with the Legal team and Marketplace Project Manager to manage contract negotiations
- Collaborate with our internal Decathlon team to remove obstacles and deliver solutions to prospective sellers
- Adhere to relevant codes, standards, policies and procedures as well as regulations in accordance with local, regional and global requirements in the delivery of performance for business results
What you bring
- Passion for sports
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in Business Development, Account Management, Marketplace Management, Leadership, Sales or Planning in brands or retail industries (sports brands experience would be an advantage)
- Attitude: Outgoing and passionate about building a team to negotiate and create the best offer for our sports users.
- A hands-on mindset in a fast-paced environment
- Resilience in dealing with challenging situations and ability to mobilize multiple stakeholders to maintain a positive outlook
- Creative amp; Entrepreneurial Mindset: Create the most attractive sports marketplace to attract all sports lovers in Hong Kong
- Communication: Both written and verbal in English and Cantonese
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record in building long-term partnerships. Cantonese would be an added plus
- Excellent business acumen and a strong understanding of the market, customers, and retail trends
- Strong ability to use financial data to make decisions, optimize resources and maximize profitability
